Extreme Engineering Solutions Ships Intel-Based Computer

Extreme Engineering Solutions has announced the availability of a Single-Board Computer featuring the Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
 
The new XPedite717 is a high-performance and low-power device that features six SATA ports and two SERDES Gigabit Ethernet ports. The company says this product is ideal for military, commercial and industrial embedded computing applications.
 
OpenVPX standards-based XPedite7172 features Intel (News - Alert) Core 2 Duo processor at up to 1.8 GHz. According to a release, XPedite features up to 4 GB of DDR2-400 ECC SDRAM, two USB 2.0 high-speed ports and two serial ports.
 
The new SBC also sports “ruggedized” enhanced design implementation” and several supported BSPs: Linux, VxWorks, QNX Neutrino, Green Hills, INTEGRITY and Windows XP/Vista drivers.
 
It can be configured as either air-cooled or conduction-cooled and hosts many I/O ports through the P2 backplane connector. The XPedite7172 can easily meet a wide range of environmental requirements and support RTM I/O in development platforms and backplane/bulkhead I/O in deployed systems.
 
Extreme Engineering Solutions has also included a XMC expansion slot in the device that provides easy product customization. Also included is an optional I/O module that allows convenient front-panel access to serial, Ethernet, and USB ports during lab development.
 
Customers can purchase the XPedite7172 for $7,380. Pricing is based on processor speed, memory configuration, ruggedization level, and volume purchases.
 
X-ES (News - Alert) designs and builds chassis, single-board computers, I/O, power, backplane, and system-level products within the embedded computer industry. Earlier this month, the company also began shipping the XPort4101.
 
This air-cooled XMC/PMC solution features the AMD (News - Alert) Radeon E2400 graphics processor that supports two independent displays and the Conexant CX23888 video capture device.
