Sogitec, a provider of support products and services for complex aerospace and defense systems,
has reportedly certified
AMD’s ATI FirePro S400 synchronization module and ATI FirePro V8750 for its Apogee 6 Image Generator system.
These solutions are capable of producing more realistic training, education and simulation scenarios and provide even output across multiple displays or video projectors to create a smooth virtual canvas, according to Sogitec.
AMD (

Alert) has stated that its new ATI FirePro S400 synchronization module allows ATI FirePro 3D workstation graphics cards to be used in demanding applications that require synchronization to external sources (Genlock) or synchronization of 3D rendering of multiple GPUs in different systems (Framelock). It is built on a full-hardware, dedicated processor design and can be used for ensuring clock-accurate synchronization in virtually all scenarios.
The dedicated processor allows up to four attached GPUs to work in the rendering needs of the user without compromising sync, according to both companies.
The module, when combined with the Apogee 6 Image Generator system, can offer robust, reliable and precise sync, plus vivid and realistic 3D imagery for life-like flight simulations.
The ATI FirePro V8750 graphics accelerator helps advanced visualization solutions by supporting the ATI FirePro S400 Synchronization Module to provide Framelock/Genlock capabilities and also supports ATI CrossFire Pro technology which can significantly scale performance for geometry-bound applications.
Sogitec has stated that flight simulation customers demand simulation technology that helps reduce total cost of ownership by simplifying installation, deployment and maintenance. The ATI FirePro S400 allows for robust, reliable, high-density synchronized 3D rendering for Sogitec Apogée 6 Image Generators, but more importantly it’s designed to allow future updates to be deployed in the field without requiring internal access to the host system, saving time and effort.
AMD has stated that it is working with simulation, training, video and broadcast partners to certify the ATI FirePro S400 Synchronization Module for use with its systems.
