Schooner Releases High-Availability MySQL and InnoDB Solution for Mission-Critical Use

Schooner Information Technology, a company that focuses on developing and marketing high-availability (HA) high-performance MySQL software for mission-critical applications, recently unveiled the SchoonerSQL, a full build of the widely-used MySQL database and its standard InnoDB storage engine.

SchoonerSQL provides 99.999 percent service availability with full data integrity, instant and automated failover and recovery across a local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN), unlimited scaling with a high level of performance and data consistency, and also greatly simplified cluster administration.

Curt Monash, president of Monash Research, said, "Schooner and its partners are putting together a powerful story in database scaling, clustering, and replication. If you like the relational data model but want to scale out, SchoonerSQL is one of the first places you should look."

SchoonerSQL has been specifically customized to meet the demands of database administrators and datacenter managers who are always pressured to need to have minimal downtime, ensure maximum service availability for their online transaction processing (OLTP) applications as well as the simplicity and low cost of a MySQL-based offering. A large number of customers from a wide range of industries rely on SchoonerSQL as it provides them with the highest service availability, with completely automatic and immediate failover; highest data integrity, with cluster-wide data consistency to eliminate data loss and slave lag; highest query and update performance and scalability, dramatically simplified cluster management and integrated high-performance WAN replication and disaster recovery, according to company officials.

Jerry Rudisin, chief executive officer for Schooner Information Technology, said, "With SchoonerSQL, our customers reduce downtime, gain full data consistency, get automated failover, and make their database clusters much easier to administer. Our latest version of our flagship product makes MySQL and its standard storage engine, InnoDB, the right choice for the most demanding applications. The direct cost savings from higher throughput, 99.999 percent service availability, and reduced administrative effort make SchoonerSQL a very compelling business choice for serious OLTP applications."

The new SchoonerSQL will be released during the middle of November.
