Nuxeo Takes Enterprise Content Management Platform into the Cloud

To enable architects and developers to easily build and run business applications,  Nuxeo, the provider of an open source content management platform for business applications, has offered Nuxeo Cloud, a content management platform that provides a seamless development, customization, testing and production environment in the cloud.

According to a press release, with Nuxeo Cloud, solution and information architects can build a content-centric application without taxing internal IT infrastructure and resources, with the benefit of adapting their operational costs to the needs of their project, whether they want to scale big or lean.

Nuxeo offers a comprehensive enterprise content management platform as a service.

“Nuxeo is the first content management software vendor to provide a complete development-to-production environment that is fully customizable in the cloud. Nuxeo Cloud delivers a wide range of benefits to organizations, including faster time to deployment, reduced strain on in-house IT resources, and greater cost elasticity as projects evolve,” said Eric Barroca, Nuxeo CEO.

Nuxeo Cloud provides a hosted application environment and managed services for the entire content management application lifecycle through the Nuxeo Platform, from prototype to production, including a full-service customization and configuration toolset.

“The Nuxeo content management platform ecosystem is tailor made for deployment as a cloud service, bringing the best in development and production of content management applications via a simple interface. We listened closely to customer and community feedback to help initiate this pivotal closed-loop cloud offering,” said Barroca.

Nuxeo Cloud includes access to Nuxeo Studio, which provides a configuration and customization environment to speed development and seamless testing of content management projects, with automated deployment to the cloud application and allocation of runtime environments and resources in the cloud; multiple server environments can be supported, if needed.

It offers automated maintenance and upgrade of the customization, with managed upgrade to the Nuxeo Platform.

“We are using Nuxeo Cloud for our development and production work, and are extremely pleased with how perfect the offering is for our use case needs,” said Rajiv Cooray, application development manager, InterContinental Hotels Group.

In other news, Nuxeo recently forged an alliance with Ephesoft, a provider of an intelligent document capture system. The alliance is aimed at providing a complete solution for managing the full document lifecycle – from the capture phase to publish and through the archive stage. The alliance reflects a commitment to open standards.
