EXASOL AG Launches Support For R Programming Language In EXASolution

Data management is becoming a vital aspect of all the business processes these days, as the overall data assets of the enterprises are consistently increasing, which need to be quickly processed and analyzed for arriving at better decisions.

EXASOL AG, a developer of advanced data management systems for rapid analysis and evaluation of data, is going to introduce extensive support for programming language R for statistical calculations with its EXASolution.

Based in Nuremberg, Germany, the company develops a well known database solution named EXASolution that leverages in-memory technology to enable enterprise warehouse to make the best out of their business intelligence. Apart from that, huge amounts of data can be assessed and evaluated rapidly with the solution.

With the new development, data scientists and other analysts from a number of sectors such as trade, production and market research will be able to benefit from the seamless integration of R, a popular programming language for data and business analysis with EXASolution. They won’t have to deploy high cost calculation resources; neither will they need to transfer entire data from one system to the other for the analysis.

The solution offers ample support for linear scaling, so that huge amounts data can also be analyzed within much shorter time spans when compared with previous solutions. R code is executed in parallel mode within EXASolution, that makes it possible for the analysts to carry out high-performance queries in a much better way.

“Whether various customer classifications or shopping basket, churn or sentiment analyses, our solution is a real asset in everything involving the evaluation of customer opinions. A publishing house wishing to know which book its customers buy the most can analyze all customer reviews and determine what is said to be the book of the year,” commented Steffen Weissbarth, chief executive officer at EXASOL. “EXASOL uses the range of functions and flexibility of the open source programming language R, and skilfully combines these two fields with the turbo database, EXASolution. The outcome: high performance data analyses also for rapidly growing quantities of data.”

In February 2013, EXASOL AG announced that Gartner (News - Alert) Inc. has once again listed the company in the Magic Quadrant for Data Warehouse Database Management Systems or ‘DBMS.’ It had been recognized for EXASolution, a relational high-performance database that was specifically developed for enterprise warehouse applications and business intelligence solutions.
