Physical, virtual and cloud management and automation software provider, Egenera, announced today that its flagship software, PAN Manager, is now available on NEC's (News

NEC Corporation is a top volume service provider in the Japanese market.
The two companies first signed a global intent-to-deliver agreement almost a year ago in October 2011, and by May of this year, NEC began selling PAN Manager for its Sigmablade System in Japan. The corporation is now selling the software worldwide.
"NEC is pleased to bring PAN Manager to our SIGMABLADE platform, M-Series SAN storage and the overall Nblock architecture," Mike Mitsch, vice president of IT products at NEC Enterprise Technologies, said in a recent statement. "This solution with advanced failover functionality ensures our customers have a cost-effective, flexible and reliable solution for their mission critical operations."
PAN Manager simplifies IT management, providing automated provisioning, high availability and disaster recovery services for physical or virtual servers. This in turn provides customers with a dramatic improvement in IT service levels as well as economics of managing and delivering IT services.
NEC's Sigmablade, meanwhile, offers optimal server consolidation while providing a robust foundation for mission-critical enterprise infrastructure. Together, PAN Manager and Sigmablade will offer a unique failover functionality called server staging, enabling faster failover with faster time to recovery.
"Together, we can offer our customers a flexible and integrated infrastructure management solution that brings together physical, virtual and cloud resources with the confidence customers require," said Pete Manca, CEO at Egenera.
In related news, Egenera recently provided PAN Manager to Avnet, offering Avnet customers with the opportunity to decrease the time it takes to complete IT projects by more than 90 percent.
Also recently, eG Innovations formed a global technology alliance with Egenera, integrating the former company's performance management software into PAN Manager.
