Egenera Selects Avnet Embedded Solutions

Recently, Avnet, Inc. announced that Egenera, a software manufacturer and Avnet customer, selected the company to provide the PAN Manager computing solution to customers to decrease the time to complete IT projects by more than 90 percent.

Egenera now has the opportunity to create customized solutions for its numerous customers throughout the Americas by using Avnet’s proven hardware integration, logistics and channel development services.

As part of the Avnet Electronics Marketing division of Avnet Inc., Avnet Embedded offers a complete suite of embedded solutions. This includes storage, computing, software and networking products, disk drives, flat panels and embedded boards from suppliers.

Avnet Embedded delivers outstanding support for OEM, embedded and commercial customers with a broad partner line card, a wealth of technical resources and a highly skilled team.

A company that allows others to rapidly create automated, scalable and reliable IT infrastructures, Egenera first partnered with Avnet early in 2012, after becoming certified with IBM’s (News - Alert) BladeCenter. Along with IBM’s BladeCenter chassis, blades and IBM BNT converged fabric switch, this left Egenera looking for a qualified partner who could integrate its newly released PAN Manager software.

Recently, the company expanded distribution agreement with OCZ Technology Group to include the Latin American and Caribbean markets. Avnet has announced that the company now distributes OCZ solid-state drive (SSD) products in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
