NopSec Adds VRM: A New SaaS Solution to Network Security Services

By Madhubanti Rudra, TMCnet Contributor

New York City-based, IT security consultancy firm NopSec, Inc., recently launched Vulnerability Risk Management Solution (VRM). In a press release, NopSec announced that the newly launched solution is designed to enable enterprises to effectively manage IT security risk levels related to network vulnerabilities.

Designed as a SaaS (News - Alert) solution, VRM identifies and verifies vulnerabilities and then generates remediation reports, NopSec officials explained.

In a statement, the company announced that the solution will be offered on an annual subscription basis by the beginning of December 2010. The subscription provides unlimited assessments of a predefined number of IP addresses and enables customers to gain access to daily vulnerability signature updates.

With VRM, small and medium sized organizations with regulation burdens can expect to gain control over the process to identify vulnerabilities, virtually eliminating false positives; the ability to maintain control over network security and regulatory compliance with centralized reports, verified and custom-fit remedies; and full remediation capabilities with trouble ticketing.

NopSec VRM features will also allow customers to receive automatic centralized reporting, daily updates to the latest vulnerability signatures, accurate vulnerability reporting free of false positives, and many more.

In a nutshell, VRM frees the users from the plight of experiencing false promises that are characteristic of some other related solutions and that helps the business address the challenges of ever-increasing IT security risks.

“We don't have the staff or financial resources to dig through the noise and the false positives that certain vendors are currently delivering - we are spending 80% more time resolving false positives than actually scanning our networks. With the increased and on-going threat to our customer data, I am now able to confidently report the levels of risk we face to executive management, and the progress we are making on remediation initiatives,” said the CSO of an international banking institution and NopSec's current customer, while sharing his positive experience with VRM

In a statement, CTO and co-founder at NopSec Michelangelo Sidagni, said, VRM SaaS solution was developed in response to increasing customers’ complaints about existing vulnerability assessment products and services. “Our focus is to help our customers streamline and speed up the vulnerability identification, verification and remediation process. This is just the first of many risk assessment modules,” Sidagni said.

Last year, NopSec joined StillSecure (News - Alert) Alliance Partner Program- a channel program designed to enable data center operators, collocation providers, systems integrators, VARs, consultants, and managed service providers (MSPs) to increase their market opportunity and revenue potential. In addition to the over 100 existing StillSecure channel partners, NopSec joined the alliance with two other new channel partners BlueBridge Networks, LLC and GBprotect, Inc.
