And the Network Security Solution of the Year Award Goes To...

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Lancope, a specialist in NetFlow collection and analysis, announced that Network Computing & Computing Security magazine recently named its StealthWatch product suite the 2010 'Network Security Solution of the Year' at the recent Computing Security Awards gala.

StealthWatch provides flow-based network performance and network security monitoring for borderless network visibility. It allows companies to seamlessly and centrally manage and monitor global infrastructures from a single dashboard, reducing total network security management costs, company officials said.

By collecting and analyzing NetFlow and other flow telemetry, StealthWatch enables IT administrators to track and monitor traffic to all mission critical devices and applications on the network. It also detects and prioritizes network performance issues and enables automatic mitigation to stop malicious activity and fix network problems.

Computer Security Awards, according to Lancope officials, recognize industry leading products, services and companies that have most impressed the readership of the UK's longest-running networking publication.

Winners of Computer Security Awards were determined through online voting by the magazine's readership across multiple categories, reflecting the wide range of application areas that impact the modern-day network.

Mike Potts, president and CEO, Lancope, said, “StealthWatch enables enterprises to gain cost-effective end-to-end visibility across physical and virtual environments to improve network security and performance.”

Commenting on the award win, Potts said that Lancope customers and readers of Network Computing and Computing Security have once again shown their enthusiastic support for their solution in great numbers.

Earlier this year, StealthWatch was also named a winner of the 2010 Product Innovation Awards for Best in NetFlow and Best in Network Visibility by Network Products Guide.

Lancope delivers unified visibility across physical and virtual networks. In the words of David Cocchiara, Lancope's CFO and head of Corporate Development, the company allows clients to have "end to end" visibility into their networks.

“Whether it's virtual, physical, remote locations, all the new things you're seeing at the show here, all the convergence you're seeing in networks today, all the different technologies, or different arrangements of the network, we're able to provide monitoring and management, and complete visibility over all of those,” Cocchiara said in an interview with TMCnet.
