A UK patent has been granted for D-Link (News - Alert) Middle East & Africa’s proactive network security defense method labeled as ZoneDefense, a technology that helps prevent businesses from exposure to potential network threats.
Officials with D-Link said that patented as the "Network information security zone joint defense system," D-Link's ZoneDefense solves the limitation of pre-emptive measures that traditional network security technologies do not provide.
Company officials said that ZoneDefense automatically quarantines infected computers on a network by detecting abnormal behavior, which violates rules of its network access service.
According to company officials, this countermeasure can effectively avoid the spread of viruses to the same subnet or other subnets, as well as preventing attacks from intruders such as hackers who can paralyze critical servers within enterprises.
D-Link provides a full range of network solutions, including storage, switches, wireless and IP surveillance, and strives to deliver high quality products with added security features that help businesses successfully protect their network.
Company officials said that the D-Link ZoneDefense initiative demonstrates D-Link's ongoing commitment in network security.
It further shows the company's technical capability and strength in providing integrated network security architecture.
In addition to the recent UK patent, D-Link ZoneDefense was also granted an Italy patent last year.
Back in September D-Link Middle East & Africa introduced a new Powerline adapter that takes advantage of existing power outlets and electrical wiring to enhance the connected experience and provide convenient access throughout the home or small office.
The D-Link Powerline AV Wireless N Extender (DHP-W306AV) instantly transforms existing electrical wiring into a high-speed network. When plugged into a home or office wall power outlet it uses the existing electrical wiring to extend the network for access to digital media devices, game consoles, print servers, computers and network storage devices.
