Logicworks Deploys ScienceLogic IT Management Software

To extend the enterprise monitoring capabilities for new and customized network devices and software applications, Logicworks (News - Alert) has selected the ScienceLogic Inc. EM7 IT operations and cloud management platform to offer its enterprise managed hosting customer base with advanced monitoring options.

According to a press release, New York-based company Logicworks offers enterprise managed hosting and managed cloud solutions for mission-critical applications and content for clients including Dow Jones, Starwood Hotels, Radar Online, and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

Stephanie Tayengco, vice president of network operations for Logicworks, said, “As enterprises with large-scale applications or content adopt cloud computing and managed services, the costs to properly monitor, analyze, and report on availability and performance become more challenging and more expensive, As enterprises with large-scale applications or content adopt cloud computing and managed services, the costs to properly monitor, analyze, and report on availability and performance become more challenging and more expensive”

ScienceLogic EM7 will be first used by the engineering team of Logicworks Network Response Team and Operations Center and this team will offer a 24/7 view into how they are providing services to end customers.

"ScienceLogic (News - Alert) will be very attractive in retaining existing clients and winning new ones," stated Tayengco. "The ScienceLogic automated reporting alone will enable us to better communicate our value proposition to clients using clear and measurable metrics to illustrate the level of service we provide. It will also allow us to make better recommendations based on each customer's specific usage patterns helping us in our goal to be a proactive extension of their IT operations."

 EM7 will also automate the provisioning of monitoring services for the Logicworks infiniCloud public cloud offering as well as Logicworks' private cloud and enterprise managed hosting services. Logicworks Managed Database Services for hosted Oracle (News - Alert), MySQL, and MS SQL Server will also be enhanced by ScienceLogic EM7.

In other company news, TMCnet reported that Logicworks has launched infiniCloud, a cloud computing service suitable for commercial and enterprise-level projects.
