ConnectMe Named Polycom VFV Partner

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor
ConnectMe, a New Jersey-based telecommunications technology developer, is now a Polycom (News - Alert) VoIP Field Verified “VFV” partner.

As a hosted PBX (News - Alert) provider, ConnectMe understands the importance of delivering quality hosted solutions for businesses. As part of the Polycom VFV program, ConnectMe and its resellers are now eligible to apply for the Polycom VoIP Product Specialized Reseller Program and resell Polycom SoundPoint IP and SoundStation IP phones for use with the ConnectMe Voice platform.

A couple weeks ago, Scott Seltzer, president of ConnectMeVoice, sat down for a talk with TMC’s Erik Linask (News - Alert) to discuss the importance of the Hosted PBX market right now.

“What’s really important,” Seltzer told Linask, “is that especially for the smaller business, it enables them to sort of level the playing field with a larger company.”

While ConnectMe is responsible for VoIP interoperability verification the company also works with Polycom to resolve technical field issues attributed to the phones.
The ConnectMe hosted solutions make it possible to have the same types of features and communications abilities that a very high-end piece of equipment can provide, but without the user having to worry about maintenance, moves, and keeping up with that equipment.

“So, a monthly flat-rate fee from an economic stand point is a good choice for a small business to make right now,” Seltzer noted, adding that in addition to the benefits for small businesses, larger businesses are also now looking to the hosted model as a way to save on costs.
