By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

ECG, network and systems consulting firm, is the first firm to offer complete VoIP Architect and Designer services to overcome the challenges being faced by VoIP service providers. Three main obstacles are prevalent, network development can take months and sometimes even years, the staff is burdened with supporting complex features of SIP trunking and Hosted PBX (News - Alert). Moreover, it’s difficult to find experienced VoIP engineers and technicians, as there are very few options available for in-depth training.

ECG addresses all these issues and lowers the overall VoIP expertise costs as well. It provides complete VoIP Architect and Designer solutions, which consist of VoIP Engineering, VoIP Integration, VoIP Customer Support, tier-3 Operations and Engineering support, and VoIP training. The costs are reduced and the delays in deployment are solved by applying the best practices for VoIP service providers. The deployment will take only few weeks. Once the network is operational, the carriers are faced with the need experienced staff to maintain the network, and provide service. ECG’s training solutions provide on-demand expertise and routine network maintenance along with troubleshooting tasks.

VoIP networks are known for their amazing flexibility, at the same time it also consists of unparalleled complexity in network design, quality-of-service (QoS), VoIP phone management, Session Border Controller deployments, and reliability. Hence, the staffs that have the basic skillset for VoIP networks like SBCs, application servers, SIP signaling, QoS Engineering, need to be trained in-house. ECG provides the only industry-standard training on technologies such as SIP, MGCP, RTP and session border controllers.

While Operations Support Systems (OSS) solutions, known as network systems, deal with telecom network supporting processes such as maintaining the network, configuring the network, and managing faults; the Business Support Systems (BSS) refers to business systems and deal primarily with the customers and other supporting processes such as taking orders, processing bills, and collecting payments. Together, they are known as OSS/BSS. ECG houses experienced staffs, who are experts in the emerging technologies, regulatory issues, OSS solutions, and telecommunications network designs.

ECG provides innovative OSS Solutions, BSS and Design Solutions, that are tailor-made to solve the operational and marketplace challenges faced by telecom providers. It has a wide client base which includes Independent Local Exchange Carriers (ILECs), Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs), wireless carriers, and Internet service providers.
