uptime software Unveils uptimeCloud

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Offering the first real-time, integrated cloud cost monitoring and cloud capacity management software as a service (SaaS (News - Alert)) tool, uptime software has released its newest product, uptimeCloud.

uptimeCloud ensures you are spending the RIGHT amount for the RIGHT cloud resources, with an easy-to-use and crystal clear dashboard.

Providing dashboards to easily monitor and measure the cost of cloud deployments in real-time, predict future cloud costs based on real workloads, provide automated cloud cost saving recommendations for cloud deployments and help IT departments ensure cloud deployments are perfectly fitted to capacity needs, uptime software introduces the idea of “economic cloud intelligence” with uptimeCloud. To ensure cloud deployments are both visible in real-time from a cost perspective and to achieve the greatest cost savings at the right level of performance, uptimeCloud provides IT with a complete toolset.

“It has become crucial for all sizes of companies to tie cloud success to cost as well as overall system performance,” said Phil Didaskalou, CEO of uptime software. “However, without a clear and detailed view into the cost of cloud deployments, it can be very difficult for IT to justify new cloud initiatives. Today marks a new era where cloud cost becomes clearly visible to large, mid-size and small companies alike.”

The release of uptimeCloud includes real-time cloud cost monitoring; the ability to predict cloud costs; and IncreaseCloud Savings, and right-size cloud capacity. uptimeCloud is the simple way to manage cost and capacity in the cloud, the company stated in a press release.

In December 2010, the company highlighted potential cloud pitfalls that IT departments must be aware of before migrating infrastructure and applications to the cloud. The companies should not underestimate how bad cloud sprawl can be as migrating too much or moving too quickly can lead to complete loss of control by IT and exponential costs, uptime stated. It is important to monitor performance because not monitoring can lead to a lack of employment.
