CompTIA Announces Educational Programs to Help IT Companies Enhance Productivity

CompTIA (News - Alert) announced that it will be launching new educational programs that will help information technology or IT businesses to enhance their productivity levels and professionalism.

The announcement was made by CompTIA’s president and CEO Todd Thibodeaux during the keynote address he delivered at Breakaway 2010.

“It’s all about increasing the level of professionalism in the IT channel,” commented Todd Thibodeaux.

He added, “Companies in our industry should not be defined by the lowest common denominator. Instead, we want every CompTIA member to be viewed as ‘best in class.’”

“We’re committed to providing you with the most valuable and impactful member benefits we can, to provide you with tools and resources to help you learn, connect and succeed,” added Thibodeaux during the conference attended by North American IT company officials.

The new offerings which will be launched in the coming months will focus on healthcare IT initially. According to research findings presented by CompTIA, medical professionals are more interested in new technological solutions.

The research report said that about 43 percent of healthcare providers preferred implementing an electronic medical records system as a top priority requirement. The percentage of doctors using e-mail to remind patients of appointments now was only 19 percent. However about 43 percent of doctors showed interest in using e-mail for sending reminders, revealed the report.

Thibodeaux said that some of the first foundational educational offerings that will be offered by CompTIA will encompass healthcare IT related solutions. The company is planning on providing an educational catalog full of programs on sales and marketing, financial management, solution selling, cloud computing, services management, government markets and other solutions, he pointed out.

CompTIA represents several IT companies that are striving to help organizations derive maximum benefit from their technology investments. CompTIA helps industry growth by conducting educational programs, market research, networking events, professional certifications, and by public policy advocacy.
