EnduraData's Replication Software Ensures Against Loss of Data

As corporations and firms grow in size, so does the complexity and volume of data. This in turn brings in its wake the risks of data loss whenever systems and networks are compromised. It is incumbent then on companies to ensure that data is adequately replicated and backed up.

Data replication software company, EnduraData, has released v3.1 of its cross-platform data replication software that allows users to replicate and backup data from one PC to one or many remote computers and from many computers to a single server. This re-ensures protection of data using secure online backups.

"When a financial company was brought to its knees because of a massive virus attack, we decided to use EDWADDS with a mix of Linux, Solaris and Windows in the online backup strategy, A. A. El Haddi, a software architect, said.

Haddi further added that when this was done, a single windows infection would no longer disable the company's business, because data was replicated to Linux and Solaris Servers and the company would continue to make use of its existing infrastructure.

EnduraData's online PC backup and replication software is available for Windows, Linux, MAC, Solaris or SunOS and other Unix flavors.

Depending on what kind of user one is, there are three suites to choose from - Home version, Professional version or the Enterprise version. Open files such as outlook e-mail files, databases, etc from windows to other windows or Linux, Mac, or Unix machines can now be backed up.

With EnduraData, even archiving of files and creating multiple versions of the same file is possible, making it easier to go back and recover important data.

During the replicating of data to remote sites or external disks, only the changed portions of the file are sent, and the file is re-built on the remote site so that it is identical to the original file. The advantage of this is that bandwidth usage is significantly reduced and simultaneously vulnerability also is minimized.

EDWADDS data replication and data distribution software allows users to ease into cloud computing by adopting a private cloud strategy.

According to E. Kenny, co-founder, there appeared to be no hassles for setting up, configuring and managing the replication software. Once a schedule is created, data is replicated over the Internet automatically and transparently. Users could replicate their data according to their individual needs.

EnduraData's data replication software is a host-based software-only solution. It allows customers to backup many laptops or PCs to a single PC or server located meters or miles away. Many organizations opt to use EDWADDS to distribute data between branch offices for data protection purposes or for efficient data sharing.

In a related news release, Eden Prairie Based EnduraData announced that Enduradata Wide Area Data Distribution Suite, EDWADDS, the content distribution software is now also available for OpenSolaris. Additional platforms will be supported in next release of EDWADDS by building on the successes of existing platforms.
