Complementing its 'Always On Wi-Fi' chipset, the new NRX600/605 chip is designed to offer tremendous savings in power and space to a new generation of economical and ecologically innovative consumer products, affirmed Nanoradio in a statement.
Additionally, to fund production for its new line of devices, Nanoradio has inked an agreement with the current investors Viking Venture, Creandum, Ferd, Industrifonden, Nordic Venture Partners, Innovacom, and Teknoinvest. As a result, it has secured a financing of 10 million euros from existing investors.
'This means that we will become a significant connectivity provider and the investment in Nanoradio is a significant recognition of the trust in our team and our capability to deliver according to plans, said Tord Wingren, President & CEO of Nanoradio. 'We have made tremendous progress and we will now show our longer term commitment to continue to provide world-class Wi-Fi solutions to Tier-1 mobile phone makers and demonstrate our capabilities to deliver high volumes to the highest quality standards.'
As members of the new Eco-Fi family, the NRX600 and 605 chips support 802.11 b/g/n standards. This unprecedented one chip solution integrates power amplifier and power management on a single die to enable Wi-Fi functionality within an area of 40 mm square, according to Nanoradio. Plus, adds the maker, it is constantly switched on and consumes minimum power.
To enable new generation of innovative consumer products, the Eco-Fi family supports new advanced functionalities such as Wi-Fi-Direct (
