SPYRUS' Hydra Privacy Card Receives Additional Approval by U.S. National Security Agency

SPYRUS, a dealer in solutions for secure authentication, secure communication, and full disk encryption, has announced that the U.S. National Security Agency (News - Alert) has authorized additional approval for SPYRUS' Hydra Privacy Card personal encryption device for securing data when used with a PC running on Microsoft Windows 7 OS.
 
According to the company, the Hydra Privacy Card personal encryption device was designed to securely store information and preserve integrity and no repudiation while data is moved from one location to another. SPYRUS officials said Hydra PC is the first and only commercially-off-the-shelf USB encryption device approved to protect tactical data in accordance with CNSS Instruction 4009 at the SECRET level and below, when used with the approved operational security doctrine. 
 
SPYRUS officials have claimed that the company has implemented the strongest commercial cryptographic algorithms available today. These algorithms, termed Suite B, have been designed to exceed the highest standards of security certification such as Common Criteria, FIPS 140-2 Levels 2 through Level 4, HSPD-12, and FIPS 201.  
 
The PC Personal Encryption Device is validated to FIPS 140-2 Level 3 and it exceeds the present security requirements issued by the US Department of Defense on the Joint Task Force Global Network Operations Computer Task Order for encrypted flash drives approved for use on DoD networks.   
 
Hydra PC Personal Encryption Device uses replaceable microSD memory cards for infinite expandability. Personal Encryption Device users can just install a new card if they run out of storage space and the device offers infinite memory expandability since the security is built into the base unit. Unique to Hydra PC encryption devices, encrypted files can be stored anywhere, including the computer hard drive, Web servers, and even in the cloud since every file is encrypted with a unique AES-256 bit CBC key. The encrypted information is fully protected even if the card is moved to a generic card reader or to a different Personal Encryption Device.
 
Data encrypted with Hydra PC cannot be decrypted until the user gains access to the device which makes access protection at least as important as encryption strength.
 
Chief Operating Officer of SPYRUS, Tom Dickens has stated that they are extremely proud to have worked closely with NSA to qualify the commercial Hydra Privacy Card Personal Encryption Device for use on the latest operating systems to safeguard tactical data at the SECRET level. 
 
In related news, SPYRUS Cryptographic OS earned FIPS 140-2 Level 3 validation and Kingston Digital and SPYRUS joined to deliver maximum data security.
