APTARE Releases StorageConsole 8 to Enable 360 Degree View of the Storage System

IT administrators face problems with the increasing complexity of today's storage environment. Most products only report on a limited scope which makes difficult to manage the company's entire storage environment.

To create a full-spectrum storage management application available today, APTARE, a provider of enterprise storage reporting, monitoring and alerting products, announced the newest release of its platform, StorageConsole 8, which allows IT administrators to proactively monitor their entire storage environment through one centralized Web 2.0 console.

The new StorageConsole 8 platform of APTARE's simplifies the management of complex enterprise storage environments, the company said. With this solution, IT administrators gain detailed insight into the moving parts of the storage area network or "SAN," to ensure all applications are running at optimum performance.

APTARE StorageConsole, with the addition of SAN fabric reporting, gives storage administrators a 360 degree view of their storage: backup, primary storage, virtualization, replication and the storage network.

The new SAN fabric reporting provides increased visibility of SAN components with topology mapping, superior change management and performance reporting through interactive dashboards that leverage HTML5, the company said.

APTARE StorageConsole Fabric Manager gives IT administrators the ability to proactively manage the dynamic environment of the SAN. With this they are able to gain true visibility into the SAN environment, manage and understand the changes to this environment, and provide necessary feedback to run at optimal performance.

The StorageConsole now provides a fully automated capability that enables key software components to remain current with the latest updates. Components can be updated automatically without the need for administrator interaction.

The APTARE StorageConsole 8 product suite is available directly from APTARE and through its resellers. APTARE products can also be purchased through APTARE managed service partners as a Software-as-a-Service offering.

In May APTARE announced it was named one of the 'Cool Vendors' in the Cool Vendors in Storage Technologies, 2010 report by Gartner (News - Alert).
