Tele Danmark Picks Demandware Solution

Tele Danmark Communications, the Danish telecommunications company, has selected the Demandware eCommerce Platform for its new e-commerce initiative.
"We selected Demandware because it provides us with a strong, scalable foundation for our growing e-commerce business, which will allow us to provide the highest levels of value and satisfaction to our customers. Demandware includes out-of-the-box core components and functionality that has enabled us to develop and implement our new sites quickly for fast time to market, along with complete customization capabilities to address all of our future e-commerce requirements," Jesper Lykke Wacherhausen, vice president of TDC Online said.
As per the terms of this agreement, Demandware will offer Tele Danmark with key capabilities to support its e-commerce operations that include; a central platform for building and maintaining multiple ecommerce sites, full in-house control over merchandising promotions, catalog, pricing and all other aspects of the online shopping experience to easily customize sites per region or product line, support for multiple languages, currencies and payment types, automatic upgrades to continually leverage new merchandising functionality for site innovation.
Also, Tele Danmark's e-commerce operations will act as an on-demand model that eliminates the need to source and maintain costly IT infrastructure
"We are delighted to add Tele Danmark to our client roster, as we expand our presence in Northern Europe. TDC has a rich history of innovation in the telecommunications industry and with a state-of-the-art platform such as Demandware, it can take its e-commerce business to the next level," Jamus Driscoll, vice president of marketing at Demandware said.
Tele Danmark Communications is a supplier of communications solutions in Denmark with a strong presence in the Northern European market. The company is also active in other European countries. Earlier, in April 2010, TDC had launched two new online shops that offer mobile phone contracts, mobile phones and accessories directly to private end-customers and small and medium-sized businesses. Company officials also clarified future plans to migrate its online offerings for services such as landline telephone, internet television and broadband to Demandware soon.
