OnePoint's Next-Gen EPM Solution Expected to Bridge Gap between Medium and Large organizations

Onepoint Software is the first enterprise project management vendor offering both an on demand and an installed Web 2.0-based solution for the extended enterprise, which is known to be integrated, real-time, open, easy-to-use and fast to deploy.

It has been selected by leading IT analyst firm Gartner (News - Alert) as one of the companies included in their 2010 Magic Quadrant for IT Project and Portfolio Management.

The Magic Quadrant is a graphical representation of a marketplace at and for a specific time period, and displays how certain vendors measure against criteria for that marketplace, as defined by Gartner.

The new research report was published on June 7, 2010 by Daniel Stang and Michael Hanford, and can be purchased from Gartner's Web site. The report provides an evaluation of vendors taking factors like vision and ability to complete projects into consideration.

Although Onepoint focuses on integrated and easy-to-use enterprise project management solutions that are often used in an IT context, it has been found that more than 50 percent of OnePoint's end-users are   business people who belong to the non-technical category.

In the years 2009 and early 2010, Onepoint focused primarily on improving formal project management according to set standards, but now it's new focus is to seamlessly integrate agile with formal project management including connectivity to Atlassian's JIRA.

Focusing on the agile framework perspective, Onepoint will be concentrating on Scrum, which will enable key advantages of formal IPMA and PMI project management for agile projects.

Put simply, this will enable work breakdown structures that will be in a position to visualize sprints and agile tasks and overall resource utilization will automate the process enabling project controlling and reporting for agile projects.

The aim of this project is to bridge the gulf that has arisen between medium and large project organizations inhibiting the project office from deploying agile project management to a greater extent. The first iteration of such an integrated approach is scheduled for release later this year during summer, along with the one point 10.1.

Onepoint Project 10 represents the next generation of OnePoint's easy-to-use PMI and IPMA compliant enterprise project management solution. Improved work Breakdown Structures and project pipeline charts, optimized navigation and many new practical project monitoring, controlling, reporting and resource management features take professional project and portfolio management with Onepoint to the next level.

The company's flagship products are Onepoint Project Enterprise Server and Onepoint Project Enterprise Cloud that are available for on premise and SaaS (News - Alert) deployment respectively. Further optional modules, are also available. Customers can pick and choose according to their areas of work and their individual requirements.

Free 60-day test-drives of OnePoint's entry-level Onepoint Project 10 Group Server/Cloud without the options are available from the Onepoint Web site.
