Alert) has successfully adopted its Quartz physical verification products to enhance productivity capabilities.
Wintegra provides access processing semiconductor and software for next-generation telecommunication infrastructure solutions. It has used the Magma Quartz physical verification products for taping out its low-power 65nm or nanometer chip. The company was able to quickly sign off on the design using TSMC 65-nm runsets, said official sources.
In a release Yoram Yeivin, senior vice president of Engineering at Wintegra said, "As we integrate more features, our designs are getting larger, more complex. To meet our time-to-market windows we need a fast, high-capacity physical verification solution."
"Magma's Quartz DRC and Quartz LVS provide the ultra-fast turnaround time and performance we need. Plus, with the excellent support Magma provided during the flow development and deployment and the availability of sign-off runsets from TSMC's website, Quartz DRC and Quartz LVS were very easy to adopt," Yeivin added.
Anirudh Devgan, CVP and General Manager of Magma's Custom Design Business Unit pointed out that the Quartz products' ability to accelerate turnaround time of large designs and its support for complex, deep-submicron process rules makes it suitable for physical verification solutions in advanced design requirements.
"Wintegra's success on this important design is a strong endorsement of the Quartz technology," noted Devgan.
According to company sources Magma's Quartz DRC and Quartz LVS products are architected to process integrated circuit or IC designs of any size and at any technology node. Magma's physical verification solution is truly scalable and can provide fast turnaround time even while using existing computer resources.
Also the Quartz tools are fully compatible with third-party IC implementation flows and can read file formats generally employed by traditional physical verification tools. Magma proposes to demonstrate Quartz DRC and Quartz LVS and its entire portfolio of chip design software at the 47th Design Automation Conference underway in California.
Magma sources added that the company's electronic design automation or EDA software provides the "Fastest Path to Silicon". This enables chip companies to create integrated circuits for cellular telephones, electronic games, WiFi (

Alert), MP3 players, digital video, networking and other electronic applications. Also Magma products find extensive use in IC implementation, analog/mixed-signal design, analysis, physical verification, circuit simulation and characterization.
