enStratus Offers Support for Eucalyptus-Based Private Cloud Infrastructures

enStratus announced support for private cloud infrastructures based on Eucalyptus, an open source solution used for implementing on-premise cloud computing. Now enStratus customers can manage their private cloud deployments based on Eucalyptus and also as hybrid cloud solutions via a unified management solution.

Eucalyptus on-premise cloud computing solution uses an organization's own secure IT infrastructure without any modifications, special hardware or reconfiguration. Customers will be able to leverage enStratus for managing Eucalyptus-deployed cloud infrastructures.

According to company sources the infrastructures include role-based security which helps meet internal security policy requirements by defining custom roles with discreet levels of permissions. Users can assign financial controls like billing codes and also track cloud resource usage.

Automated scaling, recovery and backups ensure full infrastructure automation to meet service level requirements. The cross-cloud management support takes care of all major private and public cloud infrastructures, said company officials.

This expansion in support for Eucalyptus enables enStratus to provide a common platform for customers to manage both their public and private clouds. Besides it also offers the ability to combine public and private clouds in a hybrid solution.

enStratus is a cloud infrastructure management platform which helps in deploying and operating enterprise-class applications in public and private clouds. enStratus comprises of a multi-cloud architecture that focuses on security and high availability for mission-critical Web applications.

Company sources explained that enStratus solutions will allow an enterprise to run applications that operate on sensitive data in a cloud infrastructure and exceed the service levels supported by the underlying cloud provider.
