OpTier Announces Quick To Deploy New BTM, Experience Monitoring Tools

Effectively monitoring transactions over data networks and quick action on problems detected over them is a big key to a smoothly functioning and cost-efficient organization.

OpTier has made both easier and more successful with a new product bundle for those that require end-user experience monitoring but also want the added visibility that can only be found in business transaction management. BTM, it says, permits "business application owners to take control over service performance and availability."

The new OpTier Experience Manager Plus BTM Starter Edition provides it says is a low cost, seamless solution that enables proactive monitoring, faster problem resolution and outage avoidance. It helps organizations make the critical link between end-user experience monitoring and BTM for effective service performance management.

Traditional end-user monitoring solutions do not, OpTier says provide "true visibility" into transactions as they traverse through the data center and other back-end tiers; they can only advise that there is a problem somewhere within the IT infrastructure that requires further analysis.

OpTier Experience Manager Plus BTM Starter Edition, in contrast, provides the first steps that enable companies to find and address problems before issues arise and end-users such as contact center agents experience problems that interfere with their work. It also provides transaction visibility in SOA, virtualization and cloud computing environments that can make it more challenging for IT to monitor end-user experience.

OpTier Experience Manager Plus BTM Starter Edition offers these features:

  • Agentless monitoring, alerts and analysis
  • Identification of load balancing and authentication issues that are frequently the source of performance problems
  • Automatic discovery of all end-user transactions and their paths into through load balancers and web servers
  • Real-time topology map from the end user through the web server
  • Full transactional information to optimize change management and capacity planning
  • Identification of many problems even before they affect end-user SLAs
  • 100 percent of the information. No sampling and correlation

The OpTier bundle can be installed in a matter of hours and deliver ROI in days. In contrast, other similar tools can take weeks to deploy says the firm.

"IT decision makers need more sophisticated end-to-end application performance visibility and analysis to keep up with increasingly dynamic IT environments," said Mary Johnston Turner, research director for Enterprise Systems Management Software at IDC (News - Alert).  "OpTier's efforts to link end-to-end transaction monitoring with end-user experience analysis directly target this emerging set of IT management requirements."

"The Experience Manager Plus bundle builds on our strategy to provide customers with the option of using a single service management solution," said Russell Rothstein, vice president of product marketing at OpTier. "We received a very positive response from customers to our Experience Manager product since we announced it late last year. We feel this offering allows more organizations to see beyond just the end-user view, allowing them to better manage the overall experience."
