SiVance Picks Atrion's Compliance Guardian for MS Dynamics AX Solution

Atrion International announced that SiVance a producer of silicon-based intermediaries has picked its Compliance Guardian for Microsoft (News - Alert) Dynamics AX solution.

This platform is expected to drive the regulatory programs for products and raw materials. Atrion's Compliance Guardian for Microsoft Dynamics AX is an out-of-the-box solution that provides product and raw material compliance assessment, document authoring and management, automated labeling, substance volume tracking and extensive reporting capabilities, said company sources.

"To ensure adherence to the constantly changing compliance requirements, we sought a powerful environment, health and safety or EH&S solution with tight ERP integration," remarked Paul Sweeney, director of technology at SiVance.

"Our objectives for international growth required a strategic approach in selecting the right compliance partner. Atrion's (News - Alert) solutions will allow us to comply with global regulations and support our objectives for expansion into new markets. In addition, Atrion's strategic partnership with Microsoft will allow us to leverage our investment in Dynamics and benefit from lower Total Cost of Ownership," Sweeney added.

Compliance Guardian is Powered by ACE which enables MS Dynamics AX users to incorporate Atrion's Product Compliance Solution and Managed Regulatory Content into their business processes. This enables compliance with emerging global regulatory requirements at the various stages of the product life cycle.

According to company sources the suite of products helps process and discrete manufacturers and distributors to manage risks to brand equity and disruption of operations associated with the lack of accurate contextual product compliance information. This assures that product compliance is maintained throughout the global supply chain especially in a constantly-changing regulatory environment.

Joe Cella, vice president marketing and partner programs at Atrion said, "SiVance is a great example of how Mid-Market companies with strategic objectives for international growth no longer need to see compliance as a barrier to entry. Our highly automated solutions will enable SiVance to accelerate their innovation cycles, reduce risk, and allow them to level the compliance playing field with larger organizations."

SiVance specializes in the use of silicone-based chemistry to produce high value-added, specialty products. SiVance is able to develop complex products from lab to plant scale for meeting the exact specifications given by customers in the personal care, pharmaceutical, electronics and construction markets.

Environmental responsibility has become a deciding factor and emphasized by catalyst legislations such as REACH, GHS and RoHS. Also customer demand is making environmental responsibility an increasingly important factor in everything from materials procurement to distribution. It has become imperative to maintain compliance across the supply chain otherwise it results in considerable financial and safety risks besides resulting in the inability to import and export, sell globally and meet customer demand.
