Online Tech and VersaIMAGE Sign SaaS Hosting Agreement

VersaIMAGE, a provider of hybrid "Document Image Management Systems," has signed an agreement with Online Tech to host its VersaIMAGE-WEB, Software-as-a-Service platform on Online Tech's managed servers.

Officials with VersaIMAGE claim that the company is helping government agencies, financial, real estate, manufacturing and health care institutions cut costs by moving from paper to electronic records.

Company officials said that VersaIMAGE's document management system makes it easy to securely scan, store and retrieve records over the Internet -- reducing paper, storage and retrieval time.

By moving the entire document management system to an Internet-based application, VersaIMAGE removed the obstacles their clients faced in purchasing and managing their own hardware, software and backup systems.

Company officials said that knowing that their SaaS (News - Alert) application would need to be available and secure around-the-clock, VersaIMAGE turned to Online Tech to provide the managed servers required to host the application.

Online Tech's managed servers, housed in their SAS (News - Alert) 70 audited data centers, are delivered fully configured and include around-the-clock server monitoring, first responder service to any issue that might arise, and 24x7 hands-on support.

"With the cost-effective, secure hosting solutions that Online Tech offered, it made little sense to try to do this on our own," says Alex Brunner, CEO, VersaIMAGE, in a statement.

"We don't have to spend a second worrying about our hardware, network or backups. Online Tech has taken care of everything for us - letting us focus on where we add the greatest value - our imaging and document management applications," said Brunner.

Company officials said that VersaIMAGE is protecting its data by automatically backing up to Online Tech's second data center 53 miles away. Online Tech's two datacenters (located in Ann Arbor and Flint, Michigan) are ideally located for data backup and disaster recovery.

The data centers are located on two separate power grids supported by two different utility providers and are interconnected through a Gigabit fiber making it easy to back up data to a separate location for disaster recovery.

Brunner said that when the company was looking for a partner to host its SaaS application, Online Tech was the only data center that used 2 separate power grids and was supported by different utility providers.

He said that with this type of redundancy, the company felt confident that its customer data is 100 percent secure and will always be online and available.

"Many small and mid-sized businesses do not have the infrastructure to securely host their document management solutions on site. By moving from onsite systems to a SaaS hosted solution, VersaIMAGE delivers a more secure, more accessible solution that is significantly more cost effective than onsite systems," said Mike Klein, president of Online Tech. "We are pleased that VersaIMAGE chose Online Tech to host their customer-critical applications."

Online Tech is one of the Midwest's managed data center operators.
