iRis Selects Cyan Z-Series' Voice, Video & Data in Tennessee Service Area

iRis Networks, the sure choice for a wholesale carrier’s carrier delivering state-of-the-art, high-speed transport for voice, video and data in and around Tennessee, has announced a Cyan Powered upgrade to its regional and metro backbone network.

 

By utilizing Cyan Z-Series of multi-layer transport platforms and CyMS multi-layer management system, this upgrade will help iRis Networks to offer cutting-edge technology-based services throughout its service area.

 

The upgrade also allows for the expansion of the total transport capacity of the network from 40Gbps to 400Gbps per direction.

 

Handling of growing variable data rates, packet-oriented data transmission, the convergence of voice and data to data, and wavelength services transmission is efficiently done by this new platform. iRis Networks, as a result of the upgrade, can competitively deliver 10Gbps services and more across the network.

 

“We conducted an evaluation of available technology and products for over a year. We selected the Cyan Z-Series system because it is service rich, yet so dense and flexible that it will allow us to physically remove a large amount of legacy equipment we have in the field, dropping our OPEX (News - Alert) cost dramatically,” Peter De Bono, vice president of engineering at iRis Networks, said.
