Drummond Group Completes AS1 and AS3 Interoperability Certification

Drummond Group, an interoperability test lab offering global testing services, has successfully completed its AS3 and AS1 1Q10 automated interoperability testing using its patented testing automation tool, InSitu.

AS3 is the IETF specification standard (RFC 4823) by which vendor applications communicate any data, including EDI over the Internet, using File Transfer Protocol (FTP) with digital security and receipt validation. AS1 (Applicability Statement 1) is the RFC standard (RFC3335) by which vendor applications communicate EDI or other business-to-business data (such as XML) over the Internet using SMTP, the standard used for email.

As stated by Drummond Group official, Axway, Cleo Communications, IBM (News - Alert), Inovis and Sterling Commerce are the companies that participated in the AS3 testing. Cleo and Axway participated in AS1 testing.

InSitu is a technology that is said to allow the tester to automate the execution and evaluation of the test cases used for Interoperability testing including sending and receiving of AS1 or AS3 messaging. This ensures the tester can focus more time on solving the interoperability problems versus spending time in sending all the messages exchanged in the interoperability testing.

Drummond Group Inc. has been facilitating its testing services under association-branded certification programs and its own Drummond Certified program. DGI claims to have tested over a thousand international software/firmware products used in vertical industries such as automotive, consumer product goods, healthcare, energy, financial services, government, petroleum, pharmaceutical and retail.
