Jungo Debuts Driver-Less USB Software ZeroDriver for Mobile Data Cards

Jungo Ltd., a provider of connectivity systems and driver development tools, reportedly announced that it has released new driver-less USB software for mobile data cards, ZeroDriver.

The company’s latest offering provides seamless connectivity for networking between data cards and PC hosts without any driver installation or additional applications, thereby enhancing the user experience.

In a press release, company officials said that the ZeroDriver USB software supports all data card features such as dial-up and high speed browsing, voice calls, SMS, diagnostics, network statistics and more.

Due to the fact that ZeroDriver eliminates the need to install drivers or applications on the host PC, it’s a very cost-effective and user-friendly solution, when equipped in a data card, the company said.

In addition, ZeroDriver supports all data card features, such as HSPA+ bandwidth standards. This helps the software to be easily ported to a variety of hardware mobile platforms, thereby making it fast as well as flexible.

Currently, the new USB software is available for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. It is also compatible with a wide range of PC applications, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, MS Office, Thunderbird and more.

Jungo (News - Alert) officials said that future versions of ZeroDriver would support Mac and Linux.

'Due to its ease of use and global availability, USB has become the standard interface between mobile broadband modems and PCs,' Jeff Ravencraft, president and chairman, USB Implementers Forum, said. 'We are pleased Jungo supports USB technology, by extending the simplicity and broad capabilities of USB to its customers.'

Furthermore, ZeroDriver is available in 'installation mode' for operators who wish to deliver enhanced system support.

Jungo also offers many other USB and PCI (News - Alert) connectivity software solutions, such as WinDriver, DriverCore, and USBware. The WinDriver is a driver development toolkit that allows developers to create custom device. The DriverCore offers standard USB driver, whereas the USBware is a comprehensive, high quality and small footprint embedded USB software protocol stack that enables device manufacturers to incorporate standard USB connectivity easily in their designs.
