Data Robotics' DroboElite Achieves VMware Ready Status

Data Robotics Inc., the company that focuses on delivering the best data storage experience possible, has announced its DroboElite virtualized data storage array has achieved VMware Ready status.

“We are pleased that DroboElite qualifies for the VMware Ready logo, signifying to customers that it has passed specific VMware testing and interoperability criteria and is ready to run their mission-critical business applications and operations,” said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliance programs, VMware, in a statement.

With this designation, DroboElite has passed a detailed evaluation and testing process managed by VMware and is now listed on the VMware vSphere 4 Compatibility List. Passing this extensive testing ensures that DroboElite drives effective use of VMware technology and is ready for deployment in customer environment.

“As businesses grow, data storage needs and IT environments grow and become more complex,” said Tom Buiocchi, CEO of Data Robotics. “With guaranteed compatibility between VMware vSphere 4 and DroboElite, businesses can harness the power of cloud computing and benefit from unsurpassed control, ease-of-use, and performance.

Data Robotics’ ongoing relationship with VMware and certified compatibility with VMware vSphere 4 means that joint customers will be able to confidently leverage the flexible and trusted VMware virtualization platform with DroboElite, the fastest, highest-performing data storage array Data Robotics has ever created, reducing complexity and freeing valuable IT resources,” added Buiocchi.

Designed for qualified partner products, the VMware Ready program touts more than 1,200 members worldwide and is a VMware co-branding program that is a benefit of the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program.

The VMware TAP program works with best-of-breed technology partners to provide them a comprehensive set of VMware technical and marketing services, support, tools and expertise to deliver enhanced value to joint customers.

In other Data Robotics news, the company announced in January it has successfully shipped 100,000 units of its award-winning Drobo line of data storage arrays to its customer.

In September, Data Robotics announced that it has been certified for interoperability with the VMware server virtualization software platform. The company has also been promoted as a VMware “Technology Alliance Partner” program member to “Select” level membership.

Data Robotics expanded its Drobo Partner Advantage Program in November in order to provide increased revenue opportunities for the company’s channel partners. The company will be now provide a broader portfolio of selling support to the growing number of channel partners that are selling the Drobo line of data storage solutions, through this newly expanded program.
