Iskra Sistemi Intros New SparkLight ADM16 Access Product Family

Iskra Sistemi, a developer and provider of process automation, communications and security products, has reportedly launched the SparkLight ADM16 Next Generation SDH Add/Drop Multiplexer. 
 
The SparkLight ADM-16 is a compact, high-density STM-16/4/1 next-generation access multiplexer that is capable of supporting high-speed communications services. And, Iskra's SparkLight ADM16 family of products will allow service providers to build an effective, flexible, user-friendly communications network through its wide variety of interfaces on one common platform.
 
“Iskra continues to grow its market share both domestically and abroad, based on its technology leadership,” said Tom Erjavec, director of Iskra's Telecom Division.
 
“We highly value our strategic relationship with Arrive Technologies and are pleased to expand our product portfolio for backbone networks for utility operators, wireless and wire-line operators with the Sparklight ADM-16 family,” Erjavec added.
 
The company also revealed that it has selected Arrive Technologies' AT4848 System-on-a-Chip as a key component in its new SparkLight ADM16 family of products. Arrive Technologies is a provider of advanced communication devices focused on solutions for SONET/SDH, PDH and Ethernet at the network edge, access and customer premises.
 
Arrive Technologies' AT4848 is said to be a highly integrated and scalable OC-48/STM-16, OC-12/STM-4 or OC-3/STM-1 Multiservice ADM on a chip.
 
“Arrive is proud and excited to partner with Iskra Sistemi in their development efforts of advanced networking products,” said Giovanni Cintorrino, director of Worldwide Sales at Arrive Technologies.
 
Arrive's AT4848 feature set includes integrated cross-connects supporting DS0, VT/TU and STS/VC level switching, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, storage and video protocols, SONET/SDH and high density DS1/E1s and DS3/E3s, support of Frame and Transparent GFP mapping, SONET/SDH HI/LO and PDH virtual concatenation and LCAS with 128 groups. The AT4848 also provides VLAN/MPLS applications with on-chip L2 Aggregation & Management.
 
In addition, the powerful EoS tools of this product is said to enable a smooth migration from TDM to packet services. VCAT is used to provide flexible bandwidth assignment from 2Mbps to 1000Mbps. LCAS allows for reliable bandwidth-efficient transport of many different packet services. An OTU2 blade allows for OTU2 and STM-64 line interfaces, utilizing Packet Optical Transport Network technology.
