Video communications solution provider, TANDBERG has
reportedly added a new codec, Codec C40, to its C Series codec platform. The new codec will ensure greater scale for high-definition video deployments. The C40 is fashioned after the award-winning TANDBERG C90, which is claimed to be the most advanced telepresence and collaboration codec on the market.
Additionally, the C40 provides enhanced access to high-quality video conferencing and telepresence from any meeting space. The C Series new includes four codecs that are fully interoperable with any standards-based video conferencing or telepresence system, and unified communications platforms such as Microsoft (

Among other features offered by the new codec are1080p resolution, MultiSite capability, multiple microphones and audio inputs, and a full set of advanced APIs to meet the needs of integrators.
“In the new way of working, video conferencing and telepresence deliver the greatest benefits when they are accessible to everyone,” said Fredrik Halvorsen, TANDBERG CEO. “However, we recognize one size does not fit all. That is why TANDBERG continues to deliver interoperable HD solutions like the C40 so that our customers, no matter their size or resources, have the greatest flexibility and the highest quality experience possible.”
