Organizations now have the ability to proactively monitor the end-user application experience in real-time. They can also measure performance within optimized environments with Cascade 8.4 that easily integrates with Riverbed Steelhead appliances.
According to Riverbed, organizations are now keen on experimenting with IT and are open to new concepts such as private cloud consolidation and cloud computing. This change has driven the demand for more intelligent, business-level visibility solutions and Cascade addresses this need.
The Cascade 8.4 also includes Cascade Sensor-VE for the virtualized Riverbed Services Platform (RSP), which the company claims enable seamless performance measurement in both optimized and non-optimized environments.
In a release, Jon Oltsik, senior analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group, said early adopters of WAN optimization focused on acceleration and faced a number of problems that were acute and needed to be addressed quickly.
Things have changed now and today WAN optimization is not seen only as a tactical implementation but it provides a strategic view of the network. Oltsik said that Riverbed provides a tool for higher level business analytics, visibility and reporting by integrating Cascade into optimized environments.
The integration equips the technical staff with the information and language to communicate with C-level executives when providing an understanding of the network.
'With the enhancements we're providing in Cascade 8.4, organizations can continuously assess their network with a proactive approach to resolving application issues,” said Apurva Dav, vice president of product marketing at Riverbed. “We’ve added more insight, control and power to enhance the applications that enterprises already have, allowing them to make the most of their IT infrastructure investments.'
