OpenSpan, Inc., a company specializing in personal workflow management software, announced the introduction of the latest version of the OpenSpan (News - Alert) Windows Container for Lotus.

The OpenSpan Windows Container is capable of extending the capabilities of IBM Lotus Notes and IBM (News - Alert) Lotus Expeditor for integrating with native Windows applications, said company sources.

Lotus Expeditor improves the productivity of organizations by integrating various clients and server applications in composite applications. OpenSpan Windows Container provides integration with entire enterprise applications.

OpenSpan Windows Container helps enterprise application suites like SAP (News - Alert), Oracle and BMC Remedy to integrate with IBM Lotus rapidly without accessing the application’s source code. Lotus Notes customers will be now able to increase the productivity of end-users and also enhance the efficiency of the entire organization.

Company sources added that the OpenSpan Scripting Container helps organizations build advanced automations using JavaScript thereby extending the value of Lotus composite solutions.

OpenSpan Windows Container is compatible with Lotus Notes 8.5.1 or greater and Lotus Expeditor 6.2.1 or greater. It allows applications built in Visual Basic, .NET (News - Alert), Win32, PowerBuilder and more to be included in composite applications and integrated with Lotus Notes.

“OpenSpan Windows Container provides rapid, codeless integration with Windows applications, including full integration with leading enterprise applications, enabling IBM Lotus customers to more quickly realize a return on their IT investments,” said Eric Musser, CEO, OpenSpan. “By continuing to build on relationships with industry leaders such as IBM, OpenSpan is helping its customers improve personal workflow management and user’s desktop productivity.”

The OpenSpan Windows Container has received the Ready for Lotus Certification and is also listed in the IBM Lotus Business Solutions Catalog. The company plans to demonstrate the OpenScan Windows Container at IBM Lotusphere 2010 underway in Orlando, Fla.

Company sources said that its products enhance personal workflow management and the end-user experience as it allows all applications to work together seamlessly. OpenSpan has helped several enterprises to improve end-user performance, customer service, sales and business visibility.
