Oulu, Finland, Attracts New Business in Wireless Technology

According to online publication Hitechnews.biz, Oulu is the core of mobile technology in the world enhancing new business. The expertise in R&D in wireless communications has been verified on several global forums, which has encouraged Nokia (News - Alert), the mobile phone manufacturer, to increase its workforce in Oulu. 

n Oulu, around 700 growing IT companies employ almost 18,000 people. 

There are many technology and R&D expertise in the Oulu region and it continues to be one of Nokia's key R&D sites.

Kai Oistamo, executive vice president, Devise Nokia Finland, said that the company has experience in relocating foreign companies to Oulu. 

“We can offer very highly educated people, great start-ups, competitive cost levels and longstanding R&D possibilities with our networks, including universities worldwide,” Oistamo added. 

One of the projects in the city of Oulu has been the establishment of a technology park, which employs around 6000 people. 

For Capricode (News - Alert), a Mobile Device Management, or “MDM,” company from Oulu, SyncShield mobile device management technology is one of the cutting edge technologies in Europe. Also, the number of enterprise customers using SyncShield through this reseller network has been growing. The next step for the following year will be to expand the reseller network into central Europe.

Capricode's CEO Jonny Kaarlenkaski said that SyncShield has been praised for its usability, reliability and ease of implementation. 

“In addition, SyncShield is uniquely suitable for service provider's productised mobile device management service offering,” he added. “These characteristics make SyncShield a winning remote management solution, which has a potential to become the world leading solution.”

Advertising agencies offer various digital marketing communication services for their clients as marketing shifts to the internet. The tools used to make these services are often chosen on a case-by-case basis, and the agency ends up using a vast number of tools, which take time to learn and master effectively.

Finland-based software company Koodiviidakko Oy has launched a one-stop-shop product portfolio for advertising agency customer projects.

Managing Director, Koodiviidakko Oy, Samuli Tursas said that the company is seeking more partners worldwide to sell this portfolio to advertising agencies locally in several countries. 

“Advertising agencies will acquire a license to use this web-based package,” Tursas added.
