Mellanox Adapter Devices to Power Server Motherboards from MSI

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. has reportedly announced that its ConnectX 40Gb/s InfiniBand Host Channel Adapter devices have been selected for Landed-on-Motherboard applications in Micro-Star International’s MS-91D1, MS-91D2 Half Size Server Motherboards and MS-92C2 1U high-performance computing solution.

 

Powered by Intel (News - Alert) Xeon Nehalem LGA1366 processors and Mellanox’s ConnectX adapter device, the MS-91D1 and MS-91D2 deliver the highest efficiency and advanced processing for high-performance and database applications.

Supporting both 40Gb/s InfiniBand and 10 Gigabit Ethernet, ConnectX adapter devices provide valuable data center infrastructure future-proofing benefits. This allows MSI the flexibility to address the demands for 40Gb/s InfiniBand and 10 Gigabit Ethernet with Fiber Channel over Ethernet or Fiber Channel over InfiniBand over the same hardware platform.
