Helius, a provider of digital media services for business, has announced the availability of MediaSignage 4.1. This software upgrade includes an enhanced “drag and drop” interface which enables the development of playlists for playback at specific times.
The company provides digital communications solutions for businesses. Its patented solutions enable organizations to implement applications like digital signage, distance learning and corporate communications.
“MediaSignage Release 4.1 provides a more robust platform for digital signage management,” commented Kim Clark, CTO of Helius, in a release. “The new design greatly enhances ease of use while creating a powerful, efficient, and scalable tool for scheduling and managing digital signage networks.”
MediaSignage 4.1 offers role-based administration including an additional layer of security by giving access to only those individuals who have proper credentials. System management now includes improved serial monitor control and simplified content publishing enabling emergency notifications, and providing robust report generation and export capabilities.
Device management has been enhanced so that users can see a detailed map of each device in the digital signage network thereby providing information like location, software level and color-coded status indicating the state of each device. This makes device administration simple and intuitive, said company sources.
Helius MediaSignage software delivers a scalable and reliable foundation for signage and corporate communications networks. It supports both unicast and multicast environments as it simplifies scheduling while distributing rich-media content and playlists to several display points from a central location.
Mike Tippets, president of Helius said that the company aims to deliver next-generation digital IP video technologies that distribute and manage rich-media applications. MediaSignage 4.1 offers customers a network-wide broadcast solution that communicates business-critical information to the right target at the right time.
