Psion Teklogix Ships Computers Pre-Loaded with Stay-Linked Client Software

Psion Teklogix Corporation, a Canada-based manufacturer of rugged mobile computers for hostile environments, reportedly will start shipping its rugged mobile computers preloaded with Stay-Linked Corporation’s Stay-Linked terminal emulation client software.

In addition, Psion Teklogix (News - Alert) also that it has joined Stay-Linked Corp.’s ‘Stay-Linked Ready’ program for device manufacturers. Officials with Psion said that the company would start shipping these pre-loaded computers as “Stay-Linked Ready.”

Stay-Linked Corp.’s Stay-Linked software features true thin-client terminal emulation model that provides remote access to host-based emulation sessions and applications for wireless mobile devices. It leverages a unique and network-friendly proprietary UDP (News - Alert)/IP-based Client2Host architecture, in which thin-client software installed on any wireless device, is used to connect to 5250/3270, VT100/220 and SSHv2 host systems.

This thin client wireless terminal emulation software consists of three components: Stay-Linked Server software that is installed on the host computer; Stay-Linked Client software that is installed on wireless computers; and Stay-Linked Administrator software that is installed on a Windows-based PC.

The Stay-Linked thin-client software transmits data, such as keystrokes, scans, speech-to-text and more, to the Stay-Linked Server software by leveraging company’s Client2Host protocol, on a wireless computer.

This software not only provides true software-only session persistence, but also can manage and store the emulation settings on the host system.

In addition, Stay-Linked emulation software also facilitates wireless terminal device users to experience highest level of performance, connection/session reliability and data security compared to other products available in market.

Furthermore, centralized IT/Help Desk staff can benefit from the Stay-Linked Administrator GUI console application, which gives total visibility of all Stay-Linked connected terminal emulation configuration settings, session control, and terminal management.

Usually, Stay-Linked is licensed at the server through an administrator on a concurrent-user basis. Psion Teklogix users can now enjoy the complete range of Stay-Linked's benefits when connected to Stay-Linked server software, which is included with the purchase of user licenses.

"Companies who purchase Stay-Linked licenses with Psion Teklogix devices are now able to take immediate advantage of Stay-Linked's unique productivity-enhancing capabilities right out of the box," David Griffith, president of Stay-Linked, said in a statement.

"Psion Teklogix ensures our customers receive maximum value from our solutions, ultimately maximizing our customers' Return on Mobility," Dave Peddemors VP North America sales at Psion Teklogix, said in a release. "Our partnership with Stay-Linked Corporation will provide our customers unique access to their terminal emulation applications both inside and outside the four walls."
