The LynxOS RTOS 5.0 is the superior foundation for sophisticated real-time embedded systems. LynxOS RTOS enables developers to build applications and code that meet stringent military and commercial-grade requirements for real-time mission critical applications. Code developed for LynxOS uses open standards and common formats like those found in Linux, POSIX and UNIX systems. This results in faster time-to-market and long term investment protection through open standards-based development.

All RTOS components within LynxOS are designed to respond within a known period of time. The LynxOS RTOS also exhibits true linear scalability, so that it stays deterministic even as the tasks it performs increase massively.

According to Robert Day, VP marketing at LynuxWorks, the long-standing working relationship with Empress has helped LynuxWorks to deliver a proven, real-time flexible database with a reliable foundation for customers using embedded systems. LynuxWorks provides open and reliable RTOS and software tools to embedded developers.

As an advanced, full-featured database engine that specializes in embedded systems data management technology, Empress Embedded Database delivers high-performance coupled with a small footprint. Empress Database supports a number of different API's in several programming languages to give the developer maximum choice and flexibility for building applications. Empress system have been utilized successfully in diverse embedded fields like networking & telecom, control & automation, automotive, security, military & defense, data acquisition & instrumentation.

According to John Kornatowski, president of Empress Software, the new port demonstrates Empress Software’s commitment to supporting LynxOS.
