HCL Infosystems, one of India’s leading hardware, services and ICT system Integration companies,
announced the launch of new series of notebooks and netbooks under the brand name “ME,” which stands for Mobile Excitement.
The new line of laptops reflects the persona of today’s nomadic youth and caters to their on-the-go lifestyle offering seamless connectivity to the virtual world, HCL officials said.
Earlier in September, HCL had announced the launch of “HCL Mobile Excitement” campaign, to create awareness about the ME products. The campaign is considered by company officials as one of the largest marketing initiatives since the inception of HCL in 1976.
Ajai Chowdhry, chairman & CEO, HCL Infosystems, said that the new HCL ME campaign has been made keeping the requirements of today’s on–the-go customers who are always on the move seeking seamless connection to the virtual world.
“With so much content and paucity of time, their focus is on MOBILITY always,” Chowdhry said. “We are hopeful that the renewed marketing focus will help us establish a deeper connect with our consumers and further consolidate our position in today’s fast paced market.”
Under the ME series, HCL has introduced a laptop series with in-built One Touch service & support, which the company claims as the industry-first, and offers service and self recovery features like One Touch support and One Touch Recovery incorporated into the product.
Making ME as the theme of the new products, HCL introduced innovative features like Split ME, Lock ME, Secure ME and Encrypt ME to these laptops. While Split ME lets users share their data without worrying about the size of the file, Lock ME helps them prevent data theft. When enabled, the Lock ME feature ensures that data cannot be copied on to external storage devices, USB memory sticks, CD optical disk drives and hard disk drive without getting authorization from the user.
Secure ME is another tool designed to add additional protection to the data in the laptop. Using this feature, users can lock any application installed on the PC such as Internet Browser, Adobe and Power point. Encrypt ME allows the user to encrypt their data and avoids unauthorized access of the data providing assurance against data theft.
Designed for the fast-paced new generation customers, the ME series of laptops also comes with features like face recognition and finger print recognition.
Ideal for the young customers like students and young executives, HCL is offering these notebooks and netbooks for a price ranged between $410 and $1410.
HCL has been at the forefront of offering economical computing solutions to the target customers. Last year, the company hit headlines when it
announced a partnership with Microsoft (
