CIBER Awarded Contract with State of Florida for IT Consulting Services

CIBER, Inc., a pure-play international system integration consultancy and outsourcing company, reportedly has been awarded a three-year contract with the State of Florida for information technology consulting services.

According to the company officials, the State of Florida’s Department of Management Services awarded this contract to the company allowing it to continue to provide information technology services to all state, county, municipal agencies and educational institutions throughout the state.

Department officials said that CIBER (News - Alert) has partnered with the State of Florida since 1999, delivering IT services in the areas of business analysis, project management, programming support and quality assurance and testing.

The contract extension allows CIBER to continue to provide these services in each of the four contract award areas including: deliverable-based projects in analysis and design, development and integration, operations and support and staff-augmentation based services.

“CIBER is pleased to continue serving the State of Florida and looks forward to the future engagements this contract allows. Having successfully completed numerous projects for the State of Florida, CIBER is proud to further support the State and the 1,000 city and county governments, school boards and water management districts within it,” said Tony Phillips, regional vice president for CIBER Florida, in a statement.

Earlier this month CIBER Federal, a division of CIBER, Inc. had announced that it had won a $14.1 million contract with the Misurata Free Zone to design and install a comprehensive security system for Phase 1 of this new facility.

The Misurata Free Zone, located in Libya, provides the north coast of Africa with a central hub for industrial, service and commercial activities. This 13.6-square-mile facility features a port for the trans-shipment of goods across the Mediterranean.
CIBER’s contract is to provide a port security program that delivers command and control capabilities for the access control, land/water systems and port ingress/egress systems to be installed as part of the project. CIBER will design, install and maintain this comprehensive security system. This 18-month project will deliver state-of-the-art security to the Zone as it prepares to become a major nucleus for trade activities in the region.
