Impact Systems Launches Two New Content Migration Products

Impact Systems Inc., a provider of enterprise content management software tools and services, has reportedly announced two new additions to its Q-Transfer product line, Q-Transfer Export for SharePoint and Q-Transfer Import for SharePoint, which enables cost-effective migration of all content and metadata between EMC Documentum and Microsoft SharePoint.

 

Microsoft (News - Alert) SharePoint is the business collaboration platform for the enterprise and the Web. This collaboration and content management server is said to offer IT professionals and developers with the platform and tools they need for server administration, application extensibility, and interoperability.

 

The EMC (News - Alert) Documentum platform supplies a client infrastructure with the framework and tools that enables users to process and use content management functionality across a series of desktop, portal, or Web-based applications.

 

Impact Systems’ Q-Transfer is a flexible Extract, Transform and Load software or ETL software designed specifically to handle the most complex Documentum migrations.

           

Q-Transfer Export for SharePoint and Q-Transfer Import for SharePoint allow Documentum and SharePoint administrators to simplify the process of managing multiple content sources, and also maximize their return on investment. As stated, the tools support selective migrations and allow for the co-existence of multiple platforms as businesses migrate content in bulk or incrementally into Documentum or SharePoint.

 

These connector modules include full content migration and mapping functionality, including all content - such as files, properties, versions, related documents, renditions, virtual documents, mapping, including content types, properties, folders, libraries and optional post-processing, which gives users the ability to attach workflows and/or lifecycles. Module users can also import from or export to Windows files systems.

 

Reportedly, Q-Transfer Export and Import for SharePoint are used in conjunction with Impact Systems' Designed for EMC Documentum accredited Q-Transfer Intelligent Content Transport Software.
