Terremark Adds NetWitness NextGen to Managed Security Services Suite

Terremark Worldwide, Inc., a company that provides IT infrastructure services to government and enterprise customers, has reportedly added NetWitness NextGen to the range of managed security services offered to its Enterprise Cloud customers.

NetWitness (News - Alert) NextGen will provide Terremark’s customers critical, proactive intelligence and analytics regarding advanced network threats. It will also help Terremark’s security teams shorten the risk exposure for customers dealing with sophisticated malware, data leakage and other unauthorized internal and external communications.

According to Amit Yoran, CEO of NetWitness Corporation, as government and commercial organizations move to cloud computing and managed security operations centers, the combination of Terremark’s enhanced security solutions with the analytics and threat intelligence provided by NetWitness NextGen will reduce the risk associated with network threats.

NetWitness NextGen provides Terremark customers with network security monitoring visibility and the ability to manage the advanced persistent threats most organizations face. NextGen performs both rules-based and interactive session analysis across the entire protocol stack. It is designed for enterprises to address concurrent problems of insider threat management, data leakage protection, compliance verification, network e-discovery and designer malware and zero-day detection.

NetWitness NextGen is the industry's first security monitoring software that records everything on the network. It will then re-use it multiple times to solve challenging problems faced by organizations. NetWitness NextGen solves disparate business problems by using a singular enterprise infrastructure and extensible application framework.

Terremark offers a full suite of advanced managed security services delivered by its Secure Information Services team. The services include application firewall management, network intrusion prevention, netflow analysis and active DDOS reporting and full packet capture and session analysis. The security services will be delivered with an integrated, systematic approach to defend and protect the customer’s business processes and information assets.

According to Christopher Day, Terremark’s chief security architect, security in the ‘cloud’ is a primary concern within enterprises and Federal government agencies. Also, protecting customers against network threats is vital to the overall security of any cloud infrastructure. Terremark’s recognized team of security experts solve sophisticated cyberthreats with technologies like NextGen to give customers a way to proactively identify, detect, and mitigate security problems.
