has made an announcement as the most scalable and economical solution on the market.
aCelera Virtual Appliance from Certeon IT total cost of ownership, or “TCO,” apart from offering increased application acceleration and scalability. Certeon's aCelera WAN optimization solution reduces application response times by more than 95 percent, increasing user productivity, claims the company.
The company quotes data from Tolly Group Test Report which states that Certeon’s aCelera Virtual Appliance, or “VA,” software running on an industry standard server sustained 3,500 concurrent accelerated connections. With a high latency WAN, the file transfer time was also reduced by 99 percent, according to the report. News -
Alert) Steelhead hardware appliances.
According to Peter Dougherty, president and CEO, Certeon, the company has seen the growing importance of scalability and cost-effectiveness as organizations adopt more efficient computing paradigms, such as virtualization and cloud computing.
“The analysis between aCelera and Riverbed demonstrates that companies don’t have to overpay for underutilized hardware appliances,” Dougherty said. “Using a fully virtualized appliance that offers more flexibility for less cost just makes sense in a world moving progressively toward cloud computing.”
Certeon based its comparisons on the list pricing of the Certeon aCelera software and Riverbed Steelhead 1050H and 2050M appliances. These products were tested in two customer scenarios where one supported 10,000 users in 50 branch offices and the other supported 30,000 users in 100 branch offices.
The company recently
announced its support for “Desktops as a Managed Service” solutions based on VMware ESX 3.5 and ESXi 3.5. According to the company, this latest announcement focuses on its commitment to enable high performance, scalable, and cost-efficient WAN infrastructures in support of hosted virtual desktop infrastructures computing environments.
