recently announced the commercial launch of its latest Small Form Pluggable, or “SFP,” Transceivers which are compatible with HP and are a C Version.
The transceivers come with two directional optical data communication that also props up 802.3z Gigabit Ethernet and Gigabit Fiber Channel applications with speeds up to 1.25 Gbps. This latest launch completes the suite of SFP optical transceivers from Transition Networks.
While the 1000Base-SX transceiver sends out signals in an 850nm multimode fiber, the 1000Bas-LX/LH variants use a single mode fiber for distances up to 80 km. The latest HP compatible SFP device is fully supported by original HP SFPs and can also be interchanged with any SFP module on HP ProCurve switches that also support original HP SFPs.
According to company officials, the transceiver is expected to find utility in any industry standard networking device which is in accordance with the Multi-Sourcing Agreement.
Patrick Schaber, Director of Marketing at Transition Networks, said that the company provides customers with a complete line of affordable, Gigabit HP compatible SFP optical transceivers.
“The addition of the HP compatible, C version Small Form Pluggable transceivers enables our customers to fully leverage the potential of HP switches throughout their network without breaking the budget,” Schaber said.
The company has also released the configuration specifications in which the device will be made commercially available with immediate effect.
The first variant is TN-J4858C which supports Gigabit Ethernet networks. It is a 1000Base-SX SFP that can send signals in multimode up to 550nm on a 50/125m and upto 220nm for distances upto 62.5/125m. The second variant, called the TN-J4859C, is a 1000Base-LX SFP that can send signals in signal mode for distances up to 20km. TN-J4860C, the third variant, is a 1000Base-LH SFP that can send signals over single mode fiber for distances upto 80 km.
