The
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has reportedly awarded its Information Technology Infrastructure Program (ITIP) contract to
CSC, of Falls Church, Va.
According to TSA officials, the contract award is valued at approximately $493 million for the five year life cycle of the contract.
In a release, company officials said that the ITIP contract ensures TSA staff has computing and communications hardware, software and services. In addition, it protects the network from cyber threats and is flexible in order to accommodate changes in demand for information technology capabilities.
The ITIP contract, the company officials said, will allow for the design, maintenance and enhancement of TSA's information technology capabilities. CSC will provide support to TSA facilities around the world, including airports, mission critical centers and international support centers.
"TSA is pleased to award this important contract to support its information technology systems," said Dr. Emma Garrison-Alexander, assistant administrator, information technology/chief information officer, in the release.
He said that the program ensures that TSA can fulfill its mission at airports around the country using secure technology systems and receiving the support necessary to carry out our critical work.
The TSA selected CSC through a competitive contracting process. The award was competed among contractors on the DHS-wide Enterprise Acquisition Gateway (

Alert) for Leading Edge Solutions (EAGLE) contract.
CSC is a major player in providing technology-enabled solutions and services through three primary lines of business. These include business solutions and services, the managed services sector and the North American Public Sector.
CSC's advanced capabilities include systems design and integration, information technology and business process outsourcing, applications software development, Web and application hosting, mission support and management consulting.
Recently CSC had
announced that Nissan North America, Inc. has awarded the company a multi-year information technology (IT) managed services contract to provide service desk and end-user support covering desktop computers, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and wireless hand-held devices.
CSC will also provide overall service management coordination across all IT providers supporting Nissan and covering additional facets of IT service delivery for approximately 40 Nissan facilities throughout the United States and Canada.
