Enhanced Usability Features for ClearSight Network Time Machine Launched by ClearSight Networks

ClearSight Networks has reportedly launched enhanced usability features for its ClearSight Network Time Machine (NTM). The NTM is powered by ClearSight Analyzer (CSA), an advanced network monitoring and troubleshooting tool.

Most network analysis and monitoring solutions provide a complicated user interface that makes it difficult for IT administrators to quickly analyze and effectively troubleshoot problems in their network. The new NTM/CSA 7.0.6 release has an intuitive interface that promotes easier navigation and extended capture and record capabilities.

In a release, Bill Berkman, chief operating officer at ClearSight Networks, said the new Network Time Machine continues ClearSight’s tradition of ensuring the health and reliability of enterprise networks by pinpointing problems and performance bottlenecks that other network monitoring and analysis solutions cannot detect. Moreover, the intuitive functionality of the NTM/CSA now provides end-users with improved navigation and ease-of-use.

The CSA is integrated with the NTM and provides unparalleled protocol analysis and decode capabilities. The NTM can be put into CSA mode and turned into a standalone protocol analyzer that is not limited by the size of the analyzer’s capture buffer like most traditional analyzers.

The CSA offers complete triple play support by providing analysis tools for commonly used video and voice codecs. It also allows for the reconstruction and playback of both video and audio streams, instantly identifying network problems and issues in multimedia traffic. In addition, NTM/CSA 7.0.6 supports the launching of external tools from within the NTM application. This introduces the possibility of using the NTM to capture and monitor wire-speed traffic up to 10 GbE and employing a third party application like SNORT or Wireshark to process and interpret the data.

The ClearSight NTM has been designed to allow extended capture and record capabilities coupled with deep packet monitoring, inspection and analysis functionality on enterprise networks. The fully turn-key appliance offers multi-user capabilities and allows for up to four simultaneous users to access a single NTM probe.

ClearSight provides network monitoring and analysis tools for real-time application troubleshooting. ClearSight identifies network problems at the application layer, which enables IT administrators to easily and immediately visualize and pinpoint the source of network problems. This in turn leads to faster resolution that ensures business continuity.
