AccesStream, an open source provider of security solutions, has reportedly announced the release of version 1.1 of its identity access management solution to the open source community. Interested parties can access the source code through immediate download from the company’s Web site.
The latest solution in a continuing series of releases in AccesStream’s product roadmap, version 1.1 of the IAM is designed to deliver authentication, authorization, provisioning, policy administration and full Single Sign-On capabilities. With an open architecture and adherence to open standards, this solution ensures interoperability and reduces implementation complexity.
The version 1.1 of the IAM solution also offers a modular and flexible design to accommodate environments of all sizes and configurations. AccesStream can be implemented as the main IAM solution in an enterprise environment or put in place to provide very limited and specific functionality along side of an existing IAM solution.
With Version 1.1, clients have access to the functionality of previous releases with support for basic dashboards and reporting. Examples of this reporting include a subsequent version 1.1.1 release.
The latest version also includes a strengthening of role-based authorization enforcement within the Web administration application and a filtering capability in the identity gateway for displayed applications after user authentication. Version 1.1 hardens core functionality and closes feature gaps between current capabilities and those required by early adopters.
“We are very pleased with our progress and the reception we have received so far,” Lance Edelman, co-founder and CEO, said in a statement. “While the economic downturn has taken a toll on IT budgets and has indefinitely stalled most proprietary identity access management (IAM) projects, the AccesStream open source solution provides organizations with a cost effective alternative that allows them to continue their IAM projects within their budgetary constraints. We look forward to future releases and the continued growth of our customer base and our open source community.”
AccesStream
announced the release of its version 1.0 of the IAM solution last May. The objective of this project and subsequent versions is to provide developers and enterprises with flexible, no-cost, open source solutions to address their identity access management needs.
In
November, AccesStream and
InnoShare announced a strategic partnership that will include InnoShare as a member of AccesStream’s open source community and a contributor to its code-base.
As companies continue to look to providers such as AccesStream to deliver the authentication solutions they need to protect their customers, AccesStream should enjoy growing demand for its solutions. An innovative and proactive approach to improving its solutions will be key to dominating the industry.
