Intrinsyc Selected for Windows Embedded CE UI System Redesign

Device Development Solutions group to design and implement a User Interface system for advanced digital controllers for DC power system monitoring and control.

Based on Microsoft Windows Embedded CE 6.0, the dynamic UI system allow users of these products to access a management Website from a variety of Web browsers and display screens, ranging from XVGA desktop to QVGA mobile.

David Manuel, vice president and general manager of device development solutions, Intrinsyc said this project showcases Intrinsyc deep understanding of Windows Embedded systems, usability, and graphical interfaces.

Intrinsyc let clients offer customers a display technology solution, and once the project is completed, customers will have one set of code that dynamically renders on multiple browsers and displays, giving end users total freedom of choice.

Company officials said that it requires a dynamic UI solution that readily adapts to various display and Web technologies. The controllers can now access an HTML Web server that supports Internet Explorer 7 and a single monitor resolution.

Intrinsyc will advise this maker of power systems on the selection of both the hardware and Windows Embedded CE as the operating system. The company has also been contracted to redesign the existing server architecture to support W3C (News - Alert) industry standards and freely available Web browsers, such as FireFox, as well as color touch screens in multiple sizes and resolutions.

Intrinsyc will do other things as well. It will redesign existing HTML Web pages to support Cascading Style Sheets and optimize JavaScript server calls for performance.

All these efforts will help Intrinsyc's customer flexibility migrate to a newer embedded Web server technology, ship devices with 3.5-inch color touch screens, and manage future versions of device software remotely. This deal will also benefit end users as they now have a wide choice of Web browser and screen display options.
