The New York Internet Company, or “NYI,” has
successfully completed a SAS (
News -
Alert) 70 Type II certification which signifies that its customers are protected by the most current standards put forth by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, “AICPA.”
The company’s audit was conducted by the auditing firm SAS 70 Corp., who also issued a favourable opinion of the company's controls as part of its Type I audit back in January 2009.
NYI had prepared well to receive A Type II report that includes the service organization's description of controls as well as the detailed testing of the service organization's controls over a minimum six-month period.
Damon Sullivan, managing partner at SAS 70, said that the SAS 70 process assures that NYI excels at the five elements of internal control: Control Environment, Risk Assessment, Control Activities, Information/Communication and Monitoring.
Phillip Koblence, vice president, NYI, said that for the company, SAS 70 certification confirms that NYI delivers to the highest possible standard.
With the recently added40,000 square feet foot data center in Bridgewater, New Jersey, boasting highly scalable and redundant fiber, power and cooling infrastructure, the company will be able to install extremely dense configurations as well as provide the redundancy required for the most mission-critical applications.
